DESKRIPSI PEKERJAAN

The appointee will be responsible for (a) managing and customising the Department’s IT infrastructure and systems to meet its operational and teaching needs; (b) setting up and administering servers, networks and firewall; (c) providing end-user support and training; (d) providing technical support to all computing and AV facilities, and Department events; (e) managing and maintaining the Department’s website and social media platforms; (f) evaluating and recommending new IT technologies; and (g) performing other duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson or the supervisor.
REQUIREMENT

Applicants should have (i) a recognised Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines; (ii) at least 3 years’ work experience in IT services, preferably with some work experience in IT administration and management at universities; (iii) a proven track record in IT/web application development and programming, including MySQL, PHP and JavaScript; (iv) hands-on experience in setting up and maintaining servers, networks, firewall and operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS and Linux; (v) familiarity with MS Office 365 and DNS; (vi) excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills; (vii) the ability to work independently and a strong sense of responsibility; and (viii) a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Experience in e-learning platforms is preferred. Appointment will initially be made on a 1- or 2-year contract (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
